No Netflix films at Cannes for the second year running, reports suggest

Dear all,

I have found one interesting article.

Here's the link:
no-netflix-films-at-cannes-martin-scorsese-the-irishman

So, this article is about the Cannes Film Festival and the question is:

No Netflix films at Cannes for the second year running, reports suggest

Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and The Laundromat, starring Meryl Streep, among releases unlikely to get festival screenings. I suppose it is really sad and unfair because for the film promotion is really important that event but some people from the film industry are against Netflix films and their achievements.

Some really influential people still confused because of the biggest acclaim of such Netflix film like Roma.

Here's the example:
Steven Spielberg – who had expressed the controversial opinion that Netflix films be barred from the Oscars. Netflix had previously responded to the director’s comments with a brief manifesto about making cinema as easy to access as possible.

Finally, despite these facts, I believe that everything is going to be fine and every film this year will be received appropriate recognition.

For instance,  in 2019 we will see a lot of pictures with great potential (other Netflix films The Laundromat, starring Meryl Streep and directed by Steven Soderbergh, Noah Baumbach’s latest film, and Henry V drama The King with Timothée Chalamet and non-Netflix like Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and James Gray’s Ad Astra – both of which star Brad Pitt – as well as new films from Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Jim Jarmusch, Xavier Dolan, Mia Hansen-Løve, James Mangold and Ang Lee)

  2. Hello Natasha,

thank you for sharing your post with us. Are you a big film fan? How often do you watch films in the theater?

Your post is written really well and is enjoyable to read.

    Things to consider:
Steven Spielberg – who had expressed the controversial opinion: there is a problem with punctuation; dash cannot be used here this way but a colon is necessary
Some really influential people LINK VERB still confused because of the biggest acclaim of such Netflix film like Roma.

    2. It's great you have a blog on instagram about cinema. I'll definitely read it when I have some time later this week. How do you choose what films to watch? Of course, it could depend on many things but maybe you have some pattern you follow?
